PARKERSBURG — Discovery World on Market will hold its fourth annual Back-to-School Bash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1. Admission to the event will be free through sponsorship from WV Central Federal Credit Union. DJ music night planned at Root Beer Shack

PARKERSBURG – A free DJ music night will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the Root Beer Shack, 1420 Staunton Ave. The event is a collaboration among Parkersburg Councilwoman Wendy Tuck, Root Beer Shack owner Sarah Stalnaker and DJ Dodge Gaskill. Gaskill, a retired chef who also works as a photographer and artist, will play rock, country and pop music from the 1950s through the 2000s.
