Only time will tell what's going to transpire in the future at West Virginia University for ex-Parkersburg Big Red Bryson Singer.
With that being said, there's little question he's doing everything he can to be more than prepared for when he hits Morgantown the first of August.
During a recent Zoom meeting, he scheduled all his classes for his freshman year.
"We got an apartment," Singer said of his future home with Martinsburg's Hudson Clement, the Randy Moss Award winner, along with St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) signal-caller Scott Kean and lineman Harry Hilvert from Taylor High in Ohio.
"Scott Kean just made a group chat with all of us and we all agreed to room together. I'm like a two minute walk from the stadium and all the facilities. It's right across the street."
Being a hard worker is something Singer generally is used to.
However, since he received his workout program from WVU he's had to take it up a gear.
"I've been doing it for like six weeks now, seven weeks," Singer said.
"It's only a four-week program. I'm almost through it again."
Singer said the program is "like full body workouts. Monday and Wednesday are mainly like upper body. Tuesday and Thursday are like lower body and there's a little bit of upper body, too."
Aside from lifting, he's also been doing plenty of cardiovascular work.
"I run on the field every day," Singer added. "I like doing it. I enjoy doing it. It's not that big of a deal, I guess. They sent that to me about seven weeks ago and they told me to start doing that until I got up there.
"Every workout starts with a neck workout. My neck has gotten so much bigger. After the first week I was super sore and then I got used to it. I don't even get sore anymore. I feel good. I feel like I'm in the best shape I've been in."
Agility drills are also an area where Singer continues to put in a lot of work.
"I've gotten a lot stronger and I can tell I've gotten a lot faster, too," he continued. "I haven't tested my 40-time, but I guarantee you it's dropped a little bit."
One would think during vacation he might've taken a little break, surely?
"It's been straight grinding," Singer admitted. "Even on senior week at the beach, I was still waking up and working out sometimes at the beach."
Heading to Morgantown as an athlete, Singer did express he'd like to at some point figure out what position he might be asked to play.
Although he hasn't heard anything about a potential redshirt for his freshman season, Singer added "I just assumed I was going to."
Singer said he is usually "by myself, but sometimes my buddies go with me," when it comes to lifting and working out.
"They don't usually do the workouts. They are pretty hard. No one does the running with me. The running is always by myself."
Now that he's a little more than a month away from living his dream, Singer is just trying to stay focused as he counts down the days.
"It's like mixed feelings," Singer admitted. "I'm not really nervous, but I am at the same time. I'm just ready to go up there honestly."
