This week in MOV athletics

The completion of the spring tab means a return to a somewhat normal schedule for yours’ truly. In additon, I can finally turn my full attention to the spring athletic slate which means I once again bring you the sporting events to keep an eye on in the area. Several local baseball teams are off to hot starts, but no one may be en fuego more than Adrian Duelley’s Gilmer County club. Crusader tennis player Nash Morris not resting on his laurels

Any person who was around Parkersburg Catholic No. 1 singles’ tennis player Nash Morris after his Class AA/A state finals matchup against Ravenswood’s Maximus Hilton could see the jubilation on his face. Charleston Catholic’s Andrew Jones wasn’t going to take anything away from Nash this time around after he dashed his dreams two seasons in a row. Expectation-changing freshmen classes don’t come along very often for high school sports programs. Talented incoming groups can be broken up before they collectively step foot on campus by a number of factors from transfers, injuries or sometimes parents.
