Letter to the Editor: But what about …?

I read Mr Conley's letter about the Lubeck School property purchase. I spent a week thinking about it and I feel the need to chime in. Mr Conley is certainly making a lot of noise as I see for obvious reasons. However, where was Mr. Conley when the Board spent a million dollars on PHS Stadium? What about when the board bought the old Fenton Property from the Fenton Family and had to decontaminate the area? The board also had to put in new utilities for the new school. Oh I know, what about when the Williamstown School was over 1 year past completion?

Shouldn't he be talking about the consolidation of Vienna Schools and the fact they are buying property there, even though they have 3 schools there? I mean don't you agree, editor?

Don't be bashing on the Lubeck purchase, which is going to give us a great new school. If we're going to talk about spending let's talk about everyone. I live in Lubeck and you didn't see me throwing a fit over the Williamstown property purchase.

I think if Mr. Conley wants to talk purchases then do it across the board. I am a taxpayer and my taxes went all across the county to help other schools.

If you're running for office don't be tilted to one direction ignoring the past. Now do I agree with every decision the board makes? NO. Mr Conley needs to remember the money I thought was wasteful was probably used on his home school projects.

Let's cut out the political grandstanding and let's hear these politicians tell us their plan. Lubeck students are not a political football. They are kids that deserve a new school.
