Naomi Rubin
Naomi Rubin, 92, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Wednesday August 5, 2026, at Eagle Pointe after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Empire, Ohio, a daughter of the late Okey and Evelyn (DeGarmo) Price.
She and her husband, Paul Rubin, were the founders of Rubin’s Deli on Emerson Avenue in Parkersburg in 1970. She worked alongside Paul for many years building up the business, making many friends and loyal customers along the way. She was always affectionately known as “Momma Rubin” or the Deli Lady to the many people she met in her long life.
Naomi loved to garden, take care of her flowers and attend church. She also enjoyed being outside and watching nature. She was a faithful member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church on Blizzard Drive.
She is survived by two sons Rick and Matthew Rubin, granddaughter Hannah Rubin, Hannah’s mother Pam Rubin; cousin Patsy Bibbee; her loving Pittsburgh family Tracey, Louis, Andy, and Jeffrey Friedman; and her beloved cat “Little Guy”. She is also survived by her close friend, neighbor and caregiver Cindy Fenn, and caregivers Beth Harris and Marcella Waldron.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by the love of her life Paul Rubin, one brother Jimmy Price, and her Aunt Freda Price.
Services will be Thursday August 13, 2026, 2:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Adam Paff officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday 12-2 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, PO Box 392, Parkersburg, WV 26102 or South Parkersburg Baptist Church, 1655 Blizzard Drive, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Eagle Pointe Augusta’s Cottages dementia care unit for their love and care.
