2 juveniles in custody after pursuit from Athens to Washington County

BELPRE - Two juveniles were taken into custody after a high-speed chase Friday afternoon that started in Athens County and ended in a crash on Ohio 7 north of Belpre.
The pursuit of a black Nissan Sentra that had been reported stolen began on Ohio 13 near Glouster and was related to the search for a missing juvenile, said Lt. D.R. Payne, with the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The pursuit began with Athens County Sheriff's Office deputies and was joined by troopers from the Athens Post when it reached U.S. 50, Payne said. It continued into Washington County, and units from the Belpre Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office and Marietta post assisted.
Speeds at times topped 100 mph, Payne said.
Officers attempted a "rolling road block" on Ohio 7 and the vehicle went off the road, Payne said. The driver, 14, and passenger, 13, were not injured and were to be placed in custody at the Zanesville Juvenile Center.
On Friday afternoon, the Athens County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page that it was searching for two juveniles, a 14-year-old reported runaway boy believed to be in the Parkersburg or Vienna area and a missing 13-year-old girl. A black Nissan Sentra was reportedly missing from the girl's residence.
Late Friday afternoon, the post was updated to say they had been found safe.
Payne said he could not release the identities of the juveniles in the vehicle, including confirming whether they were the ones being sought by authorities in Athens County. The sheriff's office could not immediately be reached for comment Friday evening.
