CHARLESTON -- Eleven people have been confirmed as COVID-19 deaths in the last week in West Virginia, the state Department of Health and Human Resources reported Wednesday morning.
The deaths include a 35-year-old man, the department said.
The state reported 8,094 deaths since the pandemic began more than three years ago.
Confirmed Wednesday were the deaths of an 86-year-old man from Randolph County, a 91-year-old woman from Cabell County, an 85-year-old woman from Boone County, a 35-year-old male man Pendleton County, an 82-year-old man from Jefferson County, a 75-year-old man from Greenbrier County, a 72-year-old woman from Raleigh County, an 80-year-old man from Raleigh County, an 87-year-old man from Fayette County, an 82-year-old man from Greenbrier County and a 58-year-old woman from Kanawha County.
Updates are now weekly with the expiration of the federal health emergency enacted during the pandemic.
