CHARLESTON -- A 44-year-old woman from Roane County was listed among the fatalities from COVID-19 in the last week the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
The department in its weekly pandemic update said 16 more people have died from COVID-19, including the 44-year old woman from Roane County and a 73-year-old woman from Jackson County, a 75-year-old man from Jackson County, an 84-year-old man from Roane County, a 66-year-old woman from Wood County and a 77-year-old woman from Wood County.
Other confirmations were a 72-year-old man from Raleigh County, a 61-year-old woman from Lewis County, a 97-year-old woman from Mercer County, an 83-year-old woman from Putnam County, a 75-year-old man from Berkeley County, an 86-year-old man from Kanawha County, an 85-year-old man from Preston County, a 53-year-old woman from Kanawha County, an 87-year-old man from Kanawha County and a 75-year-old woman from Raleigh County.
The death count since the pandemic started more than three years ago was at 8,083 people in West Virginia.
