Parkersburg District 4 improvement group to meet Friday

PARKERSBURG – The District 4, Precinct 71 Neighborhood Improvement Association will meet at 6 p.m. Friday at The Gathering, 514 Myrtle St, in Parkersburg. Residents are invited to bring plants and dirt for the Community Garden. There will also be a covered dish dinner, with speaker Wendy Tuck, city councilwoman for District 4, who will report on the Mountain State Land Use Summit and other city updates. Portion of Murdoch Avenue to close for leak repair

PARKERSBURG – The left and middle lanes of Murdoch Avenue will be closed from 19th to 20th Street beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday as the Parkersburg Utility Board repairs a water leak. Motorists are advised to use caution while passing through the work zone and utilize alternate routes. Questions can be directed to 304-424-8535.

Marietta Community Foundation awards $550,000 in scholarships

MARIETTA – The Marietta Community Foundation recently announced approximately $550,000 in scholarships that have been or will be awarded in 2026, through a combination of one-time awards and renewable support. There were 112 unique applicants in this year's scholarship cycle. All applications were reviewed with identifying information removed.
