PARKERSBURG - WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center will hold its annual Health & Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Grand Central Mall.
The free community event will bring together more than 50 health and wellness exhibitors while providing opportunities to learn about local healthcare services and participate in wellness activities.
Featured activities will include free health screenings, door prizes, a Temple Challenge group exercise opportunity and children's activities including a Teddy Bear Clinic and Fit Fest Dance Parties with special character guests. The event will also coincide with tax-free back-to-school shopping this weekend.
Representatives from Camden Clark services, specialty clinics and departments, along with community organizations and healthcare partners, will offer education, resources and interactive activities for participants of all ages. Participating Camden Clark service lines will include cardiovascular services, general surgery, primary care, endocrinology, radiology, cancer services, pulmonology, ambulance services, podiatry, dermatology, orthopaedics, OB/GYN and pediatrics, among others.
Camden Clark's Health & Wellness Day also provides the opportunity for Mid-Ohio Valley residents to purchase low-cost lab work vouchers, with proceeds benefitting community outreach.
Vouchers will be available for $43 for women, with screenings including a basic metabolic panel (fasting), hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c, diabetes), lipid (cholesterol) panel and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).
For men, the cost is $50 and screenings include a basic metabolic panel (fasting), hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c, diabetes), lipid (cholesterol) panel, prostate specific antigen (PSA) and TSH.
Labs will not be drawn on-site. Upon purchase of a voucher, participants will be given an authorization form which can be redeemed Aug. 3-31 at participating Camden Clark lab locations. Location information and hours will be provided with each voucher.
The first 100 Health & Wellness Day participants will be offered free EKG vouchers courtesy of the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute at Camden Clark. All free EKG vouchers must be redeemed Aug. 3-31 at Camden Clark Medical Office Building D, 1013 Garfield Ave.
Additional health screenings available will include VeraFace Skin Analysis, blood pressure checks and Dexascan bone density scans, in addition to assessments from Rehabilitation Services and the WVU Medicine Health and Wellness Center.
The event is free to attend and open to the public.
