PARKERSBURG – First United Methodist Church at 1001 Juliana St., is offering older adults a program called "You're Never Too Old to Learn," which encourages them to broaden their knowledge and explore creative abilities without spending a lot of money.

The program will follow a free lunch in the church’s fellowship hall and is sponsored by the church's Young at Heart senior ministry.

On Thursday, Aug. 20 the program will feature Joy Cowdery, representing Marietta College's Institute of Lifelong Learning, and Jessie Siefert of the Parkersburg Art Center. They will share information about inexpensive classes available in a range of subjects such as science, music, visual art and history. There are no tests, just the joy of learning something new, organizers said.

Doors open at 10:45 a.m. with the program beginning at 11:30. Donations toward the lunch are very much appreciated.

Reservations are required no later than Thursday, Aug. 13. To reserve, call the church office at 304-428-0111 with your name, the number of people in your party attending and your contact information.
