Carl E. Sizemore of Mineral Wells will celebrate his 90th birthday on Oct. 30.
He is the son of the late James C. Sizemore and Elsie Dell (Wine) Sizemore. He graduated from Burnsville High School in May 1951 and enlisted in the Marines in October 1951. He served with the First Marine Air Wing, VMF-311 stationed at Pohang, South Korea during the Korean War.
He attended West Virginia Tech and graduated from Glenville College.
He and his wife Muriel have four children: Carla Mauser (Bernie) of Sutton, W.Va.; Carol Dobson (Butch) of Mineral Wells; Carl II (Rowena) of Mineral Wells; and Jeff (Kim) of Blythewood, S.C. They have eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, Shell Chemical in and Belpre, Borg-Warner/GE in Washington, W.Va. He retired from GE in 1991. He then worked for Apex Engineering.
After retiring he and Muriel enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and many trips to the beach with the family.
Carl is a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells.
The family plans a birthday celebration for him.
