Robert (Bob) and Louise McDonald of Belpre will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary April 12, 2022.
Evangelist Fred Dennis married the couple April 12, 1947 in Cairo, W.Va. They have spent most of their married life in Belpre.
Louise is the daughter of the late P.B. and Florida Lott. She spent her married years as a homemaker and retired from St. Joseph's Hospital in 1993 with 25 years of service as the PBX operator/supervisor.
Bob is the son of the late Dennis and Laura McDonald of Vienna. He served in the Navy during World War II. He spent 41 years as the owner/operator of Bob's Barber Shop in Belpre. He also served three terms as a city council representative and is a member of the American Legion Post 495 and the Masonic Lodge 609.
They both served as scout leaders, PTA officers and band boosters for Belpre. They have spent many years working with the Churches of Christ in Washington County.
They are the parents of Robert of Nelsonville and Janet Chambers of Albuquerque, N.M. They have two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
