Jackson County Sheriff looking for burglary suspect

RIPLEY – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a female suspect who was allegedly part of a massive theft from a residence near Evans. The department is involved in an extensive burglary investigation that resulted in two warrants for Samantha Jo Carte and Emily Beth Archer, according to a post on the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page. “The two individuals entered the home when the owner was away and stole approximately $55,000 worth of numerous guns, large volumes of rare silver coins, and other valuable collectibles,” the post said. ...

Boy injured in fall off bridge at Woodridge

MINERAL WELLS – A young boy fell off a bridge at Woodridge Plantation early Wednesday evening causing serious injuries. The call came over the emergency radio system around 5 p.m. of a 9- to 10-year-old boy who fell 16-feet off of a bridge to the rocks below, dispatchers said. The boy was breathing, but severely injured. Crews called for a helicopter but it could not launch due to weather conditions, radio traffic indicated. Suspect, victim identified in weekend officer-involved shooting in Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG – The West Virginia State Police said Monday that the man who died over the weekend after reportedly exchanging gunfire with Parkersburg and Wood County law enforcement is suspected of killing the woman whose body was found in their shared residence. Miguel Angel Gallegos, 49, of 3408 25th St., Parkersburg, was identified by 1st Sgt. C.J.
