The bride to be is the daughter of the late Christopher Lowe. She was born and raised in Marietta and is a 2003 graduate of Marietta Senior High School.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Jennifer and Daniel Thomas of Vienna, W.Va. He was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., and is a 2009 graduate of Parkersburg High School.

The wedding will be in October 2025 at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta with close family and friends attending.

Thomas Bean and Amy Bean, and Nina Butcher, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miranda Bean to Hunter Lyons.

Miranda is a 2016 graduate of Marietta High School and a graduate of Ohio State where she is currently working as a clinical research coordinator at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. Hunter is the son of Mike and Michelle Lyons of Columbus. Hunter is a 2017 graduate of Bloom Carroll High School and a recent graduate of Ohio State University.

He is currently the lead bartender/supervisor at Gene’s. They plan to get married in September 2025.

Gage is a graduate of Fort Frye High School and Washington County Career Center and is enrolled in automotive technology at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Josie is a graduate of Marietta High School and began classes at Washington State Community College, but left to pursue a different career path. We are pleased to welcome Josie into our family.

Alison is a 2016 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a 2020 and 2023 graduate of West Liberty University with a BS and MS degree in dental hygiene. She is a registered dental hygienist in Martins Ferry, Ohio.

Adam is a 2016 graduate of Madonna High School and a 2021 graduate of West Liberty University with a BS degree in education. He is a behavior interventionist in Hancock County Schools.

The wedding will be held on Nov. 11, 2023, at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. A reception will follow at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott Hotel.

Moore-Hackathorn

John and Tammy Moore of Parkersburg announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Toria Ann Moore of Parkersburg to Eric Hackathorn of Cutler.

The groom is the son of Thomas Gale Hackathorn II and Lori Ann Hackathorn of Little Hocking.

Moore will receive a BSN on Dec. 10 from West Virginia University-Parkersburg. She received an RN from Washington State Community College. She was accepted into the nurse practitioner’s program at Marshall University.

Hackathorn is a member of the plumbers and pipefitters union Local 565.

Moore’s grandparents are the late Michael and Sandy Smedley of Parkersburg, Lois Ann Moore and the late Karl Lee Moore of Chandler, Ariz.

Hackathorn’s grandparents are Ralph Eugene and Elizabeth Joanne Ollom of Vincent and Thomas Gale and Edith Marie Hackathorn of Belpre.

The wedding will take place Oct. 14, 2023, at The Barn at White Pines in Marietta.

Lynch is a 2015 graduate of Warren High School and a veteran of the United States Marines. He is employed by Thermo Fisher Scientific, Marietta.

The wedding will be held 2:30 p.m. Oct. 8, 2022, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Little Hocking. A reception will follow the ceremony in the church social hall.
